Job Opportunity with new West Essex social enterprise

WECAN – the West Essex Community Action Network is recruiting three “Community Enablers” to work across West Essex on a fixed term contract to 31st March 2021

Hours:   28 per week

Pay Scale:            £15,853 p.a.

WECAN (West Essex Community Action Network) is a Social Enterprise formed by the 3 long-standing VCSE infrastructure agencies servicing West Essex (Council for Voluntary Services Uttlesford, Rainbow Services, and Voluntary Action Epping Forest).

We are recruiting 3 brand new Community Enabler posts to co-ordinate community capacity building activities across West Essex, raising awareness of social isolation and loneliness and catalysing communities to come together to prevent it.

This is a fixed term post to March 2021 and will be 28 hours per week.  Successful candidates will be based in one of the 3 districts of West Essex and take responsibility for the work in that geographical area.  If you have experience of community co-ordination, developing community relationships/activities, co-ordinating volunteers and successfully engaging others in far reaching social movements then we want to hear from you.

Chief Constable of Essex Police announced as Celebration Ball Guest of Honour

CVS Uttlesford is delighted to announce that Chief Constable BJ Harrington will be the Guest of Honour at our sector celebration ball on 22nd June 2019

With our sector celebration ball now only six weeks away, we are delighted to announce that the Chief Constable of Essex, BJ Harrington has agreed to be our guest of honour on this auspicious occasion.

CVSU are hosting the Celebration Charity Ball event for the voluntary sector and its associated organisations. This event is to celebrate the sector as well as launch a new initiative.  We will be presenting the inaugural “Making a Difference” Awards, recognising this people and organisations who have made an outstanding contribution to the Uttlesford community.   Nominations have been received from across the district and our panel of judges will be meeting soon to decide on this year’s winners.  Award recipients will receive a free ticket for themselves and one guest to accompany them.

Tickets for the black tie event – which includes a three course evening meal, prize raffle, the awards and presentations, as well are the launch of our Community Chest payroll giving scheme – are on sale now, priced at just £45.00.   All funds raised will go to support our work in Uttlesford.
