Our Impact

Key Facts 2017

We are very proud of the contribution the voluntary sector makes to the lives of the people in Uttlesford and we work in partnership with local organisations to ensure that we have an inclusive and successful voluntary sector with a positive future.

Through our core mission of supporting and strengthening the voluntary and community sector in Uttlesford:

  • We worked with over 65 organisations and individuals last year, providing them with specialist guidance and advice.
  • In addition, we worked with 24 organisations that needed help with their funding strategies and access essential contributions to their charitable work.
  • Each month 147 organisations receive our funding bulletin.

We support the delivery of Uttlesford Food Bank, which has four collection points in the district.   CVSU manages the Community Hub collection point in Dunmow.

  • We distributed food on 128 occasions during 2017.

We provide technical and administrative support for Frontline – a web-based system that allows both front line workers and members of the public to make secure referrals to services that can provide additional support.  In the last 12 months there have been:

  • 702 referrals by organisations
  • 66 self-referrals
  • 309 services from across West Essex now registered on Frontline

In addition to managing our own funds and projects, and community resources like the Uttlesford Community Hub, we also host and distribute a small number of funds for charities and good causes each year.
